At the 74 th annual meeting of the Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontics in Sunriver Oregon, President William Schmidt honored Dr. Dale Smith with the Fred Gulick Distinguished Life Member Award.
Dr. Smith began teaching at the University of Washington Department of Prosthodontics in 1960, eventually becoming professor and director of prosthodontic research and director of the graduate prosthodontic program. During his illustrious career, Dale published nearly 50 articles and delivered countless presentations nationally and internationally. He served as president of the PCSP in 1981. He is a Past President of Academy of Prosthodontics and is a charter fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. Dale also served as vice chairman on the Editorial Council of the JPD.
