Howard Landesman received his DDS degree from the University of Southern California, in 1962.  He received his Prosthodontic Specialty Credential and a Master?s Degree in higher education from USC, in 1973. 

He was Chair of the Dept of Restorative Dentistry, Co-Director of Advanced Prosthodontics, Associate Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs and Executive Associate Dean at the USC School of Dentistry. He held the Rex Ingraham Professorship of Restorative Dentistry until assuming the position of Dean and holder of the G. Donald Montgomery Professor of Dentistry from 1991-1999.  In July 1999, he assumed the position of Dean and Professor of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine

Dr. Landesman is a Diplomate and Past President of the American Board of Prosthodontics. He is Past President of the Academy of Prosthodontics, Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontics, Council of Dental Deans of the American Dental Education Association, and the USC Dental Alumni Association. He is a member of OKU and Phi Kappa Phi National Honorary Societies. He is currently on the Dean's Board of Councilors at USC School of Dentistry.

Howards' Awards include the Annual Pierre Fauchard Award, Distinguished Speakers Award from the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, Maimonides Award from the State of Israel, 2003 Presidential Citation from the American Dental Education Association, and the Distinguished Service Award from the American College of Prosthodontists, Academy of Prosthodontics, and the American Prosthodontic Society. He was awarded the Joseph Addison Sewall Award from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center for his contributions to the University.  He received the Fred E. Gulick Distinguished Life Member Award at the most recent Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontics Scientific Program held at Montage Resort, Laguna Beach. He was also our keynote first speaker in the Scientific Sessions.
