PCSP president Mathew Kattadiyil announced the 2020 Distinguished Life Member Award for Dr. Madeline Kurrasch at the first PCSP virtual President's installation event.
Dr. Kurrasch graduated from UCLA School of Dentistry in 1975. She completed her Prosthodontics residency from the VA, Wadsworth and then her maxillofacial training from UCLA School of Dentistry. Dr. Kurrasch was Assistant Professor, Section of Removable Prosthodontics, UCLA School of Dentistry from 1979-1989. She has won numerous awards and has presented and published extensively. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. Dr. Kurrasch has had a career that has included, teaching, private practice and also serving as an expert witness. Dr. Kurrasch served as PCSP president in 2005.
As a hobby with purpose, Dr. Kurrasch has trained a therapy dog so that she could visit patients in hospital. Her dog's name is Castle Bar Prince Ruffian and she states he has volunteered enough time to gain an American Kennel Club therapy certificate! Dr. Kurrasch used to race airplanes as well!
Congratulations Dr. Kurrasch on receiving the Fred Gulick Distinguished Life Member Award and thank you for your numerous contributions to our specialty and our profession! We wish we could have presented this award in person. However, it is a real honor to announce the award at our first virtual President?s installation event!
