Synopsis:
Erosive Tooth Wear (ETW) is the third most common oral condition affecting the quality of life of patients. It is our duty of care to detect, diagnose, inform, educate, and manage the condition preventively, in the most minimally invasive manner possible. This presentation will include evidence that sheds light on recent advances in our understanding of the pathophysiology of ETW, and highlights the importance of early detection, risk modification, and clinical vigilance to mitigate progression and preserve oral health.
Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss recent advances in our understanding of pathophysiology of erosive tooth wear.
2. Identify risk and protective factors influencing ETW development.
3. Emphasize the importance of early detection, diagnosis, and clinical monitoring in preventive care.
4. Promote patient, professional, and public education to enhance awareness and reduce ETW progression.
