Dr. Knox earned her PhD from the University of NSW, Sydney Australia, in Biomedical Engineering and is a Professor and the Associate Dean of Basic Research at UCSF School of Dentistry. She has extensive expertise in developmental biology and regenerative medicine, with her laboratory focused on the role of nerve-tissue interactions in the generation and regeneration of the salivary glands and cornea. Through her studies she developed a potential therapeutic for restoring radiation-damaged tissue.
