In 1930, Fred Gulick, a well-respected prosthodontist, recognized the need for a prosthodontic organization west of Chicago. He along with a couple of his prosthodontic friends formed the Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontists. Dr. Gulick was a leader, an innovator, and an educator in this field and was the first president of the PCSP.
